“We are rethinking the disjunction between individual and collective in the framework of art production. Our aim is not to mythify the collective, but to rethink how to work individually and be at the same time an artist-tribe, an artist-topos. Rather than starting from the collective, we confront any understanding of the artist that deactivates the possibility of an artist as a tribe, an artist as a topos/place (crossroad). We thought that in order to enable ourselves as artists-tribe, to make ourselves artists-tribe, we should discuss existing ways of production and delay our intention to make-work by meeting under other terms. That is the reason why -in this week of residency- we are actively planning what we call “extracurricular activities”: such as taking the initiative as artists in organizing a festival, creating a context to host the public when we present our work, giving parties for no reason, etc.
